Amateur radio operators provide public service communications for marathons, bike races, and parades; and during emergencies such as floods, tornadoes, or ice storms. Morse code is no longer required to get "on the air."
This basic course is designed, managed and instructed by the Winnipeg Amateur Radio Club (WARC), and provides the opportunity to write the Basic Qualification Exam for a licenced Amateur Radio Operator in Canada. A study and operator’s guide, as well as a 6-month membership to Radio Amateurs of Canada, are included.
