Red River College, in cooperation with the University of Winnipeg, offers students the opportunity to pursue a combined Degree/Diploma in Aboriginal Self-Governance.
This innovative joint program will provide an opportunity for individuals to earn both a diploma in Aboriginal Self-Government Administration from Red River College, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Aboriginal Self-Governance from the University of Winnipeg. The joint program draws on the distinctive advantages of both institutions:
- Multi-dimensional perspective on Aboriginal self-governance using traditional and existing models
- Leadership, administration, management
- Research
- Policy analysis
- Conflict resolution
Students graduating from the joint program will be prepared for leadership and administration positions with aboriginal governments, community-based organizations, reserves, urban groups, and federal, provincial and municipal governments.
Students must meet the general entrance requirements of and pay application fees to both institutions. Students may begin the joint program at the University of Winnipeg or Red River College on a part-time or full-time basis.
Students who complete the diploma in Aboriginal Self Government Administration at Red River College are given 30 credit hours toward a three-year Bachelor's degree in Aboriginal Self-Governance.
