This program prepares you to become a facilitator of change in communities that are experiencing multiple barriers to development.

In this hands-on diploma program, you will learn how to:

  • Recognize and use the gifts and assets of the existing community
  • Promote social inclusion and participation at all levels of transformation
  • Understand power dynamics and ethical issues
  • Apply practical facilitation skills to aid in this work
  • Acquire work experience and build a CS Network through 4 Practicums

You will also acquire a solid understanding of organizational development, program planning, and financial management of volunteer sector organizations and the how-to of starting a new social enterprise.

This program is designed to meet the needs of both new students and those who have been working in the field. It may be of special interest to you if you live or work in inner cities, First Nation communities, or have some international community development experience or aspirations.
