Description
Medical Radiologic Technology develops the skills required for performing diagnostic/interventional imaging procedures using ionizing radiation and diagnostic imaging equipment.

Medical radiological technologists perform a broad variety of procedures including general radiological imaging procedure (e.g. x-rays of the chest, bones, joints, gastrointestinal studies, spine), mammography to detect breast cancer in its earliest stages, fluoroscopy guided examinations (e.g. barium studies, needle biopsies and angioplasties), computerized tomography (CT scans) (e.g. detailed cross-sectional images of the body), and angiography to examine the heart, blood vessels and blood flow.

The program content has been nationally accredited by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) in cooperation with the Canadian Association of Radiologists and the Canadian Medical Association.
