Power Engineering - 5th Class
CO-OP/Practicum Information

This program integrates classroom theory with related on-the-job training, terms of academic study, and practicums. A 250-hour practicum is integrated throughout the program.

You must have PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) prior to starting your practicum. This includes safety shoes (CSA approved), safety glasses (CSA approved), hard hat (CSA approved), and hearing protection (ear plugs or headphones).


Practicum Prerequisite

To enter the practicum, you must:

  1. Submit a personal resume.
  2. Upon acceptance into the program, submit Adult Criminal Record Vulnerable Sector Check (ACRVS) and Provincial Child Abuse Registry (PCAR) check and Adult Abuse Registry (AAR) check documents. The checks must be conducted no more than six months before the start date of your practicum (three months for the PCAR check and AAR check). Original documents must be submitted.

  4. Submit your Red River College photo ID card.

The practicum is assessed on a pass/fail basis.
