Courses are designed to develop industry-specific technical skills and knowledge involving cabinet and furniture construction, machine operation, CNC use and programming, woodworking tools and techniques, materials, job costing, wood finishing, jig and fixture design, quality assurance, production planning, problem solving, management, basic business practice, use of software such as AutoCAD and Office, wood science, and mathematics.

Learning is a blend of classroom, shop, lab and co-operative work experience. Projects allow for hands-on group and individual work. Tours offer students an opportunity to expand their view of the industry. Training is enhanced by co-operative education. Terms 3 and 6 are paid co-op work terms. Approximately 40% of the program is spent with industry partners to give students hands-on opportunities to learn in actual industry settings.
