Description
Animal Health Technology is designed to provide a sound fundamental knowledge of the basic sciences to support understanding and application of the principles of veterinary medicine.
The program covers topics such as animal management, medical and surgical nursing, anesthesia, diagnostic procedures and practice management.
The first year focuses on developing a sound knowledge of the basic sciences as a foundation for animal healthcare. The second year focuses on veterinary medical skills in nursing, radiology, clinical laboratory procedures, anesthesia, and practice management. It includes training in the care of laboratory animals, avian, and exotic species.
Course material will be presented through lectures and practical laboratory experience. Practical training in all areas is reinforced through work experiences.
